In today's society there are multiple alternative to getting home after having a drink or two. They include but are not limited to taxi's, calling a sober friend, walking, etc. Anything would be better than driving drunk. It is fortunate that there was a witness to the accident, as we have seen several times already this summer, often driver's simply continue driving without stopping to see the damage they have caused.
