66 Customs Interview

I have come to appreciate and highly recommend an old school bike shop over the last year – 66 Customs.

66 Customs is located in Grantsville Utah and serves bikers with old-school values of honesty and loyalty. They treat all bikers alike – you become part of their family – their motto is “built by biker blood for biker blood.” He works on Harleys, Triumphs, KZ's, Hondas and CB's – any older bikes are his specialty.

The head wrench and owner is Brayden Finchum. Brayden (aka Viking) served in the army before being honorably discharged. He learned his biking know how from his grandfather. Brayden's grandfather was a long-time biker hailing from Oakland. His grandfather would take Brayden in his mobile motorcycle shop across the western states working on bikes of friends, family, and long-time devotees. Today Brayden has a shop working side by side with his wife Mandi in Grantsville.

Brayden wants bikers to know that he honors “old time values.” He knows what he is doing having grown up around bikes fixing knuckleheads and shovels. He enjoys teaching bikers how to work on their own bikes saying “pull up a stool and sit beside me as I work on your bike – I will explain all what I am doing so you can do it yourself later if you want.” 66 Customs has a devout following of repeat customers coming back time and again because “they like the way we deal – honest – up front – fair” Brayden says.

Brayden's first bike was a 1980 KZ-440B but over the years he has owned and worked on virtually all bikes. His current bike is a 1976 KZ Custom 650 but his favorite bike was a Harley Fat Boy. The longest bike ride Brayden has taken was from Oakland California to Chicago Illinois. When I asked Brayden if he had ever been in a motorcycle crash he said he has been in too many to recall one particular crash but he is still standing…and riding.

You can always get in touch with Brayden by simply calling or texting him at 801-654-1354 or follow 66 Customs on Facebook – 66 Customs and message them. You can schedule an appointment virtually any time – day or night – even weekends.
