Hello fellow bikers, George Tait here, Utah Bike Law.
You know there's a thing when you're in a car crash called PIP, personal injury protection. PIP
kicks in to pay three thousand dollars' worth of your medical bills regardless of who's at fault.
In a motorcycle crash, there's no such thing as PIP, I don't know why the Utah legislator figured
out it wasn't necessary or for whatever reason.
But the point is, you can buy something called the Med Pay. If you do not have medical insurance
and you're riding a motorcycle, chances are if you're going to be in a crash, you're going to be
jacked up and you're going to have a lot of medical bills. So, a good way to pay for those medical
bills resulting from a motorcycle crash is with what they call Med Pay. You can buy increments
of Med Pay in five thousand dollars increments all the way to whatever you want to buy. It's pretty
cheap insurance and it's a good way to go, especially if you don't have medical insurance
So Med Pay, it's a rider on your motorcycle policy.
If you don't have medical insurance, it's a good way to go. Somebody's got to pay for those bills.
Be careful out there.
