Since the Utah weather cannot seem to make up its mind, we have decided to give you some safety tips that apply to both winter and summer weather (and others in between). Motorcycle accidents happen more often than anyone would like so here are some tips on how to be a little bit safer.
Ride at Your Own Pace
There are many instances where you will be riding with a group of people. The group that you're riding with might want to travel faster than your accustomed to. It's okay to hang in the back to go at a speed that you are comfortable with. With almost anything, if you are going too fast the outcome is not pretty.
Never Ride Tired – Safety First!
This one kind of goes without saying. You shouldn't drive, ride, skateboard, or anything that requires acute attention when you are tired. Drowsy driving is just as dangerous as driving under the influence.
Leave Room for an Escape Route
Leave a space between you and the vehicle in front of you. There is always a chance that someone coming up from behind you won't stop in time. If you leave space, you will be able to move up or move out of the way if the person behind you isn't stopping in time.
Wear the Right Gear
In emergency situations, you don't want to have a helmet or a pair of gloves that are too big. If the gear you're wearing is too big, there is more of a chance that your gear could slip or fall off. You might just get some scratches and bruises but you might not be able to walk away from the accident.
This is self-explanatory but blending into the background is dangerous! If you are driving at night and you are wearing all black, it will be really hard for other drivers to see you! Think of your favorite color and get a shirt in that color that is neon!
There are so many other tips that you can find! We thought that these would be some of the more important ones!
